Practical guide
Extract Arabic and English text from a scanned PDF
Learn when PDF OCR is needed, how to improve scan readability and which text to check after exporting to Word or text.
When OCR is needed
OCR recognizes letters inside page images. It is useful for photographed notes and scanned documents whose words cannot be selected. It does not restore details that are missing from a blurry or cropped source.
Prepare a readable scan
Use upright pages, even lighting and a complete crop. Avoid shadows, glare and tilted text. If the source is unreadable at a comfortable zoom, a clearer rescan will usually help more than changing the output format.
Choose the right output
Upload the PDF to PDF to Word, select the pages and enable Arabic + English OCR. Export Word for editable paragraphs and supported formatting, or plain text when you only need the words. Plain text does not retain pictures, tables or page styling.
Check sensitive details
Compare names, decimal values, dates and numbered lists against the original. Arabic letters with dots and mixed English words may be misread. Photographs are different from text: keep the original PDF available to check whether graphics and captions were preserved correctly.
